EcoGPX® Data: Research Partnerships
Our facilitated technology platform is designed to support: Evaluation researchers, nature connection labs, and university centres studying nature-based, outdoors and green social prescribing interventions.
You might be working where nature-health outcomes are measured consistently, it's usually through standardised scales at fixed time points, NASP's common outcomes framework, ONS-4, WEMWBS. That gives you a number, but not a story. And people, communities, and cultures have always made sense of change through story, not scores.
What gets lost is how connection to place actually builds over time, how communities describe their own outcomes in their own words, what happens between the surveys. Co-producing new qualitative fieldwork to capture that is slow, expensive, and hard to fund as a standalone study.
What EcoGPX® Data is: PLACES generates TRACES: warm, relational, place-anchored community content collected as people actually take part in nature-based activity, not retrofitted afterwards. EcoGPX Data is TRACES packaged for research use, drawn from a live, consenting proof of your specific communities.
What's actually in it: Geo-located community reflections and engagement records collected in situ, structured against our eco-social evaluation framework (Relational Outcomes, Eco-Social Flourishing, Community-Defined Outcomes, grounded in salutogenic theory). This is a single-site proof of concept, not a large-N dataset.
TRACES is designed to enrich, contextualise and develop research methods for place- and nature-based work. It's suited to methodological development, mixed-methods enrichment, or a co-authored case study, not to a standalone quantitative claim. TRACES may include, depending on consent and scope: geolocated reflections, creative/media contributions, timestamps/location tags, project/context metadata, engagement summaries, and facilitated interpretation notes.
Two ways in:
Data licence: access to a defined slice of TRACES for an agreed period, under a data sharing agreement covering consent and governance terms.
Partnership: co-designed research question, co-authorship and case study rights, fee reduced or waived in exchange for research capacity contributed to PLACES' own evidence base.
